Oh, yeah, that's my point. I mean, in a certain sense I'm speaking from experience---I'm well aware of the fact that it's hard for me to even TRY to appreciate new music from some of the artists that really effected my childhood. For instance, With Teeth/Slip/Ghosts/Year Zero will never TOUCH The Fragile/Downward Spiral/Pretty Hate Machine in my mind, regardless of actual merit. Same goes for Golden Age of Grotesque/High End of Low/Eat Me Drink Me vs Antichrist/Mechanical Animals/Holy Wood.

I have to agree with him on this one though, I much prefer the first 2 album to the last 2. Not saying they were bad but I enjoyed the first 2 a lot more and when I go to listen to Brand New it's usually one of those that I go to.

I can't listen to either of the first two albums without skipping tracks. With YFW it's because all the songs are pretty under-developed and samey, but I have no idea what my beef is with Deja Entendu. Just that a lot of it bores me.

I've never been a huge Brand New fan, but back in the day I did get my hands on a copy of Deja Entendu and fell in love with "Play Crack The Sky".

I dont know how this got to Brand New but TDAGARIM is a fantastic album, its nice to see a band not just put out recycled material for 4+ albums.
